Privacy Policy

How Multi Image Search handles your data.

Last updated: 2025-12-02

1. Scope

This privacy policy explains how Multi Image Search (the browser extension and this website) handles information when you install and use the extension or visit this website.

Multi Image Search is a simple client-side tool. We do not operate a separate online account system or cloud service for this extension.

2. Data processed by the browser extension

All core logic of the extension runs locally in your browser. We do not run a backend server specifically for the extension.

2.1 Extension settings and preferences

The extension may store basic settings, such as which search engines are enabled, which engine is the default, whether to show "search in all enabled engines", and your preferred language. These settings are stored in the browser's extension storage (for example chrome.storage) and are not sent to us.

2.2 Searching online images (web images)

When you use the context menu on a web image, the extension builds a search URL and opens the chosen search engine (for example Google, Bing, Yandex, TinEye or Baidu) in a new tab. The image URL, page URL or related parameters are sent directly from your browser to the selected search engine. We do not receive or store these URLs on our own servers.

2.3 Searching local images (files on your computer)

For images stored on your computer, the extension only opens the official image search page of each search engine. The actual file upload happens in a page controlled by Google, Microsoft (Bing), Yandex, TinEye or Baidu. The extension does not intercept, read or upload the contents of your local image files.

2.4 Browser permissions

The extension uses only the permissions that are necessary to provide its features, such as context menu integration, opening tabs and storing settings. The exact permissions are listed in the browser's extension details page. We do not use permissions to collect your personal data or to track your browsing history for our own purposes.

2.5 No built-in tracking or analytics

The extension does not include built-in analytics, advertising SDKs or tracking scripts. We do not collect statistics about which images you search, which sites you visit or which search engines you use, beyond what is required locally for the extension to function.

3. Data processed by this website

This website is a static information page for the extension. We do not provide account registration or login and do not ask you to submit personal data in order to read the documentation.

3.1 Server logs

This website does not store any access logs on the server.

3.2 Cookies and local storage

This page may use local storage (for example to remember your preferred language on the site). At the moment we do not use third-party analytics or advertising scripts. If this changes in the future, we will update this privacy policy.

4. Third-party services and links

When you use the extension, you may be redirected to third-party image search services. These include, for example:

  • Google Images / Google Lens
  • Microsoft Bing Images
  • Yandex Images
  • TinEye
  • Baidu Images

These services are operated by independent companies and have their own privacy policies and terms of use. Any data you provide on those websites (including image files, search queries and cookies) is governed by their policies, not by this document. We recommend that you review the privacy policy of each service you use.

5. Data security

We design the extension so that as much work as possible happens locally in your browser and no unnecessary data is sent to our servers. However, no online service or software can guarantee perfect security. Please use the extension only on devices and networks that you trust and avoid uploading sensitive images to third- party search engines if you are concerned about privacy.

6. Your rights and choices

You can uninstall the extension at any time from your browser's extensions page (chrome://extensions or edge://extensions). This will remove the extension and its local settings from your browser.

If you live in a region with specific data protection regulations (for example the European Union / EEA or similar jurisdictions), you may have additional rights regarding access, correction or deletion of personal data. Because this extension does not maintain user accounts or central logs, in most cases the easiest way to stop all processing is simply to uninstall the extension and stop using the website. If you still have questions, you can contact us using the email address below.

7. Children

The extension and this website are intended for general audiences and are not specifically directed at children. We do not collect any personal information from children.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time, for example when we add new features to the extension or when applicable laws change. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when this policy was last revised. If you continue to use the extension after an update, you are considered to have accepted the new version.
